I heard there is a lot of violence and kidnapping can happen quite frequently - is this justified or is the perception rather amplified by the Media?
Visit Bolivar's House, the Bolivarian museum, Quinta Anauco and restaurants in Las Mercedes and Los Palos Grandes.
I would like to visit Venezuela! What is the best time of year for the best weather? I am interested in seeing the city and also the beaches and landscape! Thank You Tim De Freitas
Merida is a university city on a beautiful platoo. It has nice restaurants, bars n access to one of the longest cable car in the world. From here you can go to the highest peak in Venezuela called Pico the Bolivar which elevates above 6000 m. The air is so thin there that you will need to walk really slow to breath enough oxigent, otherwise, you will feel lightheaded and in some instances faint! I enjoyed my stay in Merida, so should you :-)
