Do not miss to Visit Opera Hall in Oslo, Norway-new modern building -built as social meeting point, not just opera Hall.
If you are looking for somewhere cheap to visit then maybe this is not the first place you should come to. That said, I think you will be impressed. I have found Oslo to be a wonderful city, with plenty to do, and you will find lots of clean air, unlike many capital cities around the world. There cannot be many Capitals that have miles and miles of forest walks and cross country ski-runs right on the doorstep, conveniently served by the excellent public transport system. I expect to be here...
I am travelling to Norway on a sightseeing trip on 12 February, arriving in Bergen late afternoon. I then move on to Flam, Oslo, Bodo & Kirkennes, arriving there on 18 Feb. If any one has any tips or pointers, they would be much appreciated. Thanks
In winter, try snow toboganing, take the trains right to the top of the slope, hire a tobogan, and prepare for hours of fun!
When is the best time to visit Norway and how is the cost of living there? Would like to see the midnight sun and the aurora when do you suggest is the best time to go to Norway.
I found Oslo a very nice city. I got lucky and had perfect weather when I did a cruise around the fjord, I was able to get some great photos. I definitely recommend you take a ferry to the islands and do a bit of a walk. Unfortunately the weather wasn't as kind when I went up the ski jump, but this was still a daunting experience. The food was good, but not the cheapest I've come across in my travels, same with any alcohol you may want to buy.
