Bungee jumping is becoming increasingly popular amongst thrill seekers all over the globe. We would like to bring you our favourite jumping locations. What’s your favourite spot?
1. Royal Gorge Bridge, Colorado, USA
The Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado is the highest bungee jumping spot in the world! The drop is a shocking 321 metres down and is sure to have even the greatest of adrenaline junkies breaking a sweat. The descent lasts for just over 10 seconds right above the gushing Arkansas River. Unfortunately, this bungee jumping experience is now only a once a year event and takes place during the Go Fast games – so be sure to plan in advance!
2. Macau Tower, Macau, China
Not just a haven for some of the world’s greatest casinos - Macau boasts one of the greatest bungee jumping locations on Earth. The jump is an immense 233 metres down and gives participants the chance to drop deep into Macau’s concrete jungle. Unlike the others on this list, the jump from Macau Tower is centred in the urban-city, making it a truly unique experience.
3. Verzasca Dam, Ticino, Switzerland
Most famously known for being in the opening sequence of the famous James Bond movie GoldenEye, the Verzasca Dam provides a great free-fall bungee jumping experience. The jump is only 13 metres smaller than the Macau tower at 220 metres, and plunges participants into the heart of darkness that is the concrete dam. Enjoy!
4. Bloukrans Bridge, Western Cape, South Africa
The Bloukrans Bridge in South Africa has a tremendous vertical drop of 216 metres. Upon its opening in 1997, the bridge held the title of the world's 'highest commercially operated bungee' and, in effect, set the bar for the ones listed above! Nonetheless, this jump still offers an unparalleled experience – known for its smooth descent, it really immerses you in the surrounding beauty of the area.
5. The Last Resort, Tatopani, Nepal
Nepal is known for its beautiful valleys and picturesque mountains, but have you heard of The Last Resort? Situated very close to Tibet, nestled in stunning surroundings, this 160-metre jump is truly dreamlike. The experience is situated on the longest Nepalese suspension bridge over the Bhote Kosi River. Jumpers normally leave with souvenirs of t-shirts, DVDs and, of course, unforgettable memories!
6. Victoria Falls, Zambia/Zimbabwe Border
Wet, Wet, Wet! This is something we can guarantee if you are bungee jumping over the Victoria Falls. As you plummet from 111 metres, down over the Zambezi River, you will begin to fall at a swift pace, whilst being showered by the nearby falls and feeling inspired by the beautiful surroundings – a real adrenaline buzz! This jump is situated on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe – so be sure to take your passport and travel documents!
