Visit the Ukraine  by Gregory    7th Dec 08
Visited Lut'sk in Ukraine. It is a remarkable city that has many differing aspects in life. It has cultural, amazing restaurants with excellent food, and lots of history. Yes, there are some run down parts of the city but that is to be expected for a city approaching 1000 years old. I would say go and visit the Ukraine. See the cities. Well worth the trip if you like culture.

Ukraine Mission  by Jeff    31st Jul 08
I was giving a Bible Prophecy Seminar. It certainly isn't America! I loved it though. Outside the of the bank that tried to steel $3000 out of my bank account the people were very nice. I visited Kiev but most of the time I was in Vasilkov. Hardly anyone spoke English and since my translater was not with me most of the time it was hard to communicate with people. But we got by. The people I stayed with were a Pastor family there in Vasilkov. They were great!. We got along really well. I think the hardest thing for me was not being able to drink the water. Bottled water was the norm there for me. Although regular water is not as common in Europe. It seems that they prefer carbonated water. I did not. But we found regular water. It was the first time I had left North America... I had been to Mexico a couple of times when I was a kid. The Ukraine was pretty cool. I felt like a teenager all over again. Everything was so new and exciting. I hope to go back one day.

Kishinev to Kiev  by Robert    23rd Jul 08
Ben many times to Ukraine but this was just for the day as I was catching the overnight train to Minsk. Kiev looked nice in general, keeps improving. Met a friend there for lunch and some typical soviet service despite it being in a nicer cafe. I would have stayed the night had I known Paul McCartney was going to play that night. Ukraine is still the major under-achiever of Eastern Europe, hopefully they will get it together sooner rather than later.
