Living in Siera Leone is like living in paradise. The country is fine with lots of natural beauty, fine and nice view,fine beaches, cheaper but very nice hotels. Its citizens are very nice and are always ready to help with a smiling faces. It is really amazing to be there coz, you will feel like home always.

I too visited Sierra Leone shortly after the war. Freetown was very nice and the people went out of their way to help. My favorite part was the beaches. They have some very picturesque beaches. Incredibly gorgeous. Add to that some great cheap restaurants and good hotels, and you have a future tourist hotspot. Unfortunately, I did not venture far from Freetown as the countryside was still dangerous at the time. Everyone told me to hire an armed guard if I left town. I hope the country stabilizes soon. I would love to see more of it.

Visited Freetown on an official trip just a few years after the war finished in SL - It was an amazing trip - went from London and lost my bags enroute - it as a wonderful experience inspite of all that.

Sweet sweet Salone. Warm people, beautiful beaches, mountains and lakes, barbecued lobster on the beach and lots of vimto!
