What a place!  by Trevor    1st Feb 09
Very hot. I put in a work request to get Allah to fix the AC, but it never happened. Garbage lines the streets, and at sunset, it looks so pretty as a barefoot kid walks through rusty tin cans and used diapers. Majestic views of the Euphrates River left me breathless... or it could have been the stench of human waste. The national pasttime is begging in the streets and of course, fireworks. Boom boom boom all day long. I will credit Iraqis though... when they blow up their own powerlines, by the next morning there is a rats nest or wires spliced together and held up by palm tree braches. Innovative people, I'd say. Very handy with electronics. The occasional sandblasting from a sandstorm cleans the soul. Who needs a spa? Why, Iraq is the place to be!

Amazing Scenery!  by Joe    29th Jan 09
Amazing scenery, the sunsets are probably the most beautiful thing about the country. If you love being surrounded by the vastness of nature than this is a great country to go to. People are very friendly and the food is very unique and tasty. If you go you must have some chai tea. It is simply one of the most wonderful drinks I have ever had. I would love to go back to Iraq again. It is a great country.

It's ok  by Mark    15th Nov 08
First let me just start by saying it's HOT! It’s 130 degrees easy in the summer. Most of the people I deal with are very friendly. I work near a river and it very green. It kind of tricks your mind that you’re somewhere else. This is a good thing. I've picked pears of a tree and ate it. Something I thought I would never do in Iraq. In conclusion, besides the people trying to kill me and the fact it third world to the highest degree, this country has Potential to being a great tourism spot.

Iraq  by Damon    15th Oct 08
I would agree that the people are very friendly, most of them are scared for having to live around or next to someone who could be an insurgent. It is hot here most of the time, but in some parts of the country most northern they do get snow. If you are in The middle of the desert in Iraq you will most likely get the chance to see a real sand storm like in the movies. It totally blots the sun out of the sky. Other then most of the bad stuff people say about this place you may not here a lot of good coming out of it. The people are among one of the hardest working you may ever see in the world. If you by any chance got to take a picture of their economy before the war, you will see the difference in their buildings designs. Of course these people have sewage problems along with many others, still this is a war zone country - what do you expect?

Iraq  by Maira    3rd Oct 08
The people are friendly when they are not trying to shoot or blow you up. The climate has been a mild 120 degrees on averages, There are a lot of beautiful sites. Actually seen one cloud and the stars were out last night. Dust gets into everything and the sewage on the roadway, in the ditches, and basically everywhere else smells bad. All the trash could be picked up occasionally.
