massawa , asseb and asmara  by Nigil    24th Sep 08
i was there in Massawa on a three day visit. we went out on the first day itself to see nothing ... yes , nothing was there... it was very hot climate with the temperature around 42... it is a war torn city.... there is a small beach also... another day we went to Asmara .... thought this one would be a carbon copy of Massawa..... but it was a pleasant surprise to see that city which was entirely different from Massawa... though it was only 3 to 4 hrs journey from Massawa to Asmara the climate change was drastic.... really cool and pleasant climate ....a neat and clean city.... temperature around 15 .... it was a nice time there . our next destination was Asseb ....nothing to say ...it was just like Massawa..

Nice country  by Matt    22nd Sep 08
I visited Eritrea and was ready for the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. I had heard it was hard to travel around the county and even a bit dangerous, but I had no problems. Asmara was great, with a lot to see and do. I also got to Keren to see its wonderful market. Massawa was an interesting town, unfortunately it was pretty well devastated in the war.
