Seremban is the capital of Negeri Sembilan state, & also a small town between Melacca & Kuala Lumpur. If you plan to visit Kuala Lumpur & Melacca actually Seremban is a good choice for you to stay, from Seremban to KL it take 45mins by bus only, to Melacca around 1 hour 15mins, you can stay at Allson Klana Resort or Royale Bintang Hotel if you have no budget for it, otherwise you can try 'Seri Malaysia Seremban Hotel',price reasonable & room ok, just beside Seremban Bus Terminal interchange. Of course Seremban is changed a lot nowadays, you can go Jusco, Parkson, Terminal 1 for shopping, go Jusco for movie, & lots of nice food to try out (Of course all of these you can't compare with KL)! For Chinese, The most common dialect in S'ban is Cantonese & Hakka.

Is it suitable for living ?

Other then the shopping ,if you all like nature pls try our ulu bendul waterfall(water is cold), at night at Senawang Taipan got lots of sheap tastyl halal food you can enjoy, cheap hotels nearby, our museum and tasty seafood at 4th km Jln pantai and along this road you find satay stall which was shown on TV3( Jln Jln cari makan) .Pls chk it out.
