Well, I'm the lead singer and songwriter for an Irish band called 'The Beat Poets'. It's been a mental 2005 for us. We formed in May 2005 and we're instantly chosen as Tom Dunne's 'Pet Sound's' rising artist of the week on 'Today FM'. On June 2nd we started our gigging campaign in 'The Cavern Club' Liverpool and since then we have played venues such as 'Whelan's (Dublin)', The Empire (Belfast), The Half Moon Club (London), NUI (Galway), The Millenium Forum (Derry) and 'The Bank' (Waterford). On top of that we have supported 'Sonic Youth', 'The Chemical Brothers', 'Nine Black Alps', 'The Walls' and 'The Rev's. Having won Xfm unsigned (London) in August we have been play listed on 12 Irish stations and received airplay in New York, L.A, Chicago, Perth, Montreal, London and began to develop a fan base across the world. Recently our songs were used on 2 new Channel 4 (UK) sports programmes and O'Neills sports global advertisement campaign. At the moment we have been receiving a huge amount of attention on both sides of the Atlantic and are hoping to make some big announcements soon! On top of the band I am completing a PhD in the psychology of stroke. In 2003 I received a scholarship from the Royal College of Surgeons and have helped develop techniques into improving the quality of life for individuals who have suffered from stroke. To say I am busy is definately an understatement!!
