I am falling behind on my picture and blog posting. There is so much I want to say about what I saw in Goma and also in Rwanda ( I went to the Genocide museum there). I am sitting in the airport right now in London, waiting for my flight back to the states. I will put up some pictures of my travels now and I will write a blog about my experiences when I get back. It was so overwhelming, I need a little time to sort things out. I saw so many things: violence, misery, beauty, hatred, friendliness, etc. Since I have left, my mind has been full of thoughts.
I will try and get my thoughts organized and write something.
In the meantime, the documentary/news story that was shot will be on TV in the next couple of days. I worked with an international crew. We had people from CNN in the states and the BBC in England. Both shot their own footage at the same time. So look for that. If you see anything on The Congo on those stations, it is a good bet that I was there with them.
I did get to meet With General Nkunda, the rebel leader. He is a man of contrasts. He was very nice and cordial with us. He was joking with everyone and he seemed to be a great guy. Yet, I hear he can be downright ruthless. Many of his men are scared of him and they do what he says for fear of their lives. I got to spend about an hour with him after he had been interviewed. I will write a little about that soon too.
I gotta get going. Take care and I will talk to everyone soon.
