As many of you can see in my photo album I got quite an unusual wardrobe. My style of clothing is called Lolita, and that's a style from Japan.

Lolita was invented by the girls in Japan early nineties. They were influed by victorian in the ninties century. A lolitas motto is to be elegant. They have wide bell shaped skirts and decorates their clothing with lace and flounces.

The first lolita called themselfs sweet lolitas. They looked like dolls in their pastell clothing and with bows and ribbons all over. Later on a lot of sub-genre developed. Today they have a name for everything. However elegance is still every lolitas main idea.



Sweet lolita
Soft colors like pink, baby blue and white. Sweet like a cupcake!

gothic lolita
Black and white mostly. Acessoaries like crosses, black roses and simliar. EGL means Elegant Gothic Lolita.

classic lolita
down-to-earth colors. Dark blue, brown, beige, dark red. very elegant, not to much lace.

sailor lolita
a dress inpired by sailors yet with wide skirt. White, marine blue or grey.

country lolita
dresses with flowerprints. Not so much lace and bows. Accessoaries lite a plaited basket and a straw hat.

kuro/black lolita
Like a gothick lolita, but with no white. All black.

shiro/white lolita
like a sweet lolita, but dressed up all in white.

cosplay lolita
a person dressing up like a lolita just for events. trying to look like a lolita from a manga/anime. Also lolita inspired maid dresses and similar.

punk lolita
lolita combined with punk. A bit more trashy, shorter skirt and red scottish checked fabric. Accessoaries like chains or safety pin.

guro/ita/painful lolita
this lolita is soaed in blood. Faked blood hopfully. She uses bandage to look like a broken doll. Accessoaries like an eye patch.

hime/gyaru/princess lolita
sweet colors and with a princess style on the dress. Accessoaries like a tiara.

aristicrat lolita
even more elegant with long skirts. Dark colors. High hat, cane and white gloves for elegent men. EGA menas Elegant Gothic Aristocrat.

kodana/dandy/boystyle lolita
No skirts. Puffy pants down to knee. Knee socks. Vest and shirt with lace.

Wa lolita
A style inspired by the japanese kinomo. Long sleeves and a obi/belt around their waist. Still knee length skirt/dress.

ero/erotic lolita
corsets and hotpants with tons of lace and ribbons.
