I went to Edinburgh for the first time in July 08 and by the time it came to celebrating new years 08/09 on Prince's street it was my third time in the city. Generally I'm not a city person, but Edinburgh doesn't feel like you are in a city. Within a few minutes you can be in the shopping areas of Princes Street and George Street yet cross over Waverley place and you are in the historic old town walking up the Royal Mile towards the castle. The city is easily accessible either by foot, bus or taxi. It's a beautiful city buzzing with life. The night-life is fantastic and like Denise I would recommend Espionage. Also a great live music bar called Whistling Binkies proved to be a great night for me and my friends. i love the city and hope to get back there again by April,the people are lovely, the night-life is great, shopping is fantastic, culturally it is so enriching but most of all it's just an amazing city!
