I've lived here for just about 2 years now and so far what i have learned from this place is that there is GREAT food. Chain restaurants are good but if try the local places.. YUMMY! Mid-town Bakersfield there is a Cuban restaurant called Cuban Flavor SABROSO! Drive down to Shafter (about 15 minutes away) to a restaurant and eat at China Cousin for an AFFORDABLE steak dinner. You'll pay triple at a stakehouse. Hungry for Seafood head down to east Bakersfield to Mariscos Puerto Vallarta. Other than great restaurants it's a good college city and active community.

I went to bakers field and spent the night there. I had lots of fun, went out for a couple of drinks and went back to the room. watched t.v, went to sleep and came home after a meeting for my traveling buddy.
