New York, United States

New York City, arguably the world's most vibrant and sprawling metropolis, occupies five boroughs, each with its own distinct identity. After all, before the historic 1898 consolidation, Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island were each independent municipalities.

Rochester, NY  by Iris    4th Nov 09
Rochester is one in a million. My family & I went there the last week of October 2009 to visit my sister and it was wonderful. While there we visited Niagara Falls for the first time. Old Fort Niagara is on the way and it was well worth the stop, especially for a history buff. There is so much to see and do in Rochester, NY and surrounding areas that are free or nearly free for those on a tight budget, which we were, and you can still have a total blast. I highly recommend anyone to try Rochester one time.

New York New York  by Tim    12th Sep 09
Such a fantastic place... I visited New York nearly 10 years ago now and I still have fond memories of my time there. I stayed at the UN Plaze on the 32nd floor providing stunning views of the city that never sleeps... The people were surprisingly friendly (for a big city), the food was top notch, and there was a nevereding list of things to do and see. The highlights for me were; the Empire State building, Central Park and Times Square .... maybe this seems a little obvious but as a young child I always wanted to see these places and they did not disappoint. Whilst going around central park I visited the Dakota building and the strawberry field memorial... as a scouser I felt it appropriate to visit the scene of where my idols life was taken away from him... his memory will live forever.

New York is The City of all Citie  by Sarah    31st Aug 09
Absolutely Love New York City. It has so much to offer. You need to stay at least a week and even then, you probably would not be able to cover the entire aspect of it. I've visited Manhattan, Queens, and The Bronx. I have also visited Coney Island, which is one of my favorite spots there. It's truly a great place to be in.

Great Place  by Ebenezor    22nd Jul 09
Although I can not compare New York with the Old York that was here before the War. I must say I like the improvements. Everyones seems to speak American, You can get a Burger 24/7...who needs to go abroad?

Brooklyn  by Carolyne    7th Apr 09
Brooklyn, despite its reputation, is a nice leafy suburb, with plenty of park areas and places to walk. The good thing about the City is that there's a lot of greenery around and plenty of parks to escape to if you are not big on shopping, plus the art galleries and museums. Getting about can be time consuming though.....
