a small quaint town, with lots of history... Kanchanaburi proved to be just the escape I was looking for. time just seemed to come to a stop there, yet the amount of things to c in 2 days just kept you going. Tiger temple, though slightly controversial for all the wrong reasons, was a complete delight. Elephant ride, the bridge over river kwai, war memorial, hell fire pass, waterfalls... every new experience was as varied as the previous one. But the best part i liked about the place were its train stations.. a quiet lonely forgotten track, where the train will pass in its own time, and the station manager just sat in his cabin busy with his guitar, keyboards, and drums!!

I joined a tour in going to Kanchanaburi visit the Jeath war memorial, cross the bridge of river Kwai - crossing the bridge is exciting, and there's a man on one side of the bridge playing music, ride the death rail train and have lunch at Kitties raft.. here comes the saddest part I thought rafting and elephant riding is included in the tour only to found out that it is not and I have to go back to Bangkok just to pay additional which is impossible for my limited time in Thailand.. For the place it's worth the cost of the tour, so enjoyable and exiting...

Kanchanaburi is a small town with amazing people, attractions, and great hospitality. I went there for a few days and had a blast. It was so easy going. It was a like a little hole in the wall town that no one knows about. If you visit Thailand, this place is a must. With the Tiger Temple alone is worth the trip, then you can go on the other tours the hotels(hostels) offer. markets, elephant rides, the locale.... all amazing...
