Due to its softness of the climate most people like to be here during there holiday. Not only that but also the most precious religious place for Buddhist,"Sri padaya", is located here. Rainfall always above 4000mm/anum. If you visit there you will see drizzle and frog everywhere. The most beautiful railway line is crossing this district.In the point of sports this area is famous for horse and car races.Ah ! don't forget to visit "Worlds End" when you visit there.In the same journey you will find beautiful waterfall "Backers falls". Beautiful hill country. You can see the tea plantations in the hills. The climate is very nice with temperature around 17- 20 Cel. Ther's a botanical garden in hakgala where you can see many flora. Upcountry vegetables and potatoes too are grown in this area. You will be able to see tea manufacturing factories as well.
