Loving it....  by Danny    25th Mar 09
Most people come through Alicante on their way to Benidorm or Torrevieja. If you are planning to go there please keep going and don't stop in Alicante, we don't want you. I live here and love the place. A working city with great shops, restaurants, night life and it's on the sea! There aren't drunk groups crawling around looking for fights. People of all ages mix. Further afield are great walks, scenery, bodegas (to sample and buy wines) amazing historic places to visit and a nice cooling sea breeze. Try staying at La Datcha, great private resort 15 minutes from the airport. If you want more info, get in touch.

Little clean resort, possible par  by Lora    22nd Jul 08
Ok place for 3-4 days and good dining and beer;) Shopping is great, the beach is a little bit too crowded - didn't expect this! The palm trees are very nice especially the ones outside the railway station! A wide shopping possibilities in the city-center!

stress free  by Elle    28th May 08
great place to go for 3 or 4 days,Stayed Mediterranea Plaza ,was pretty reasonable,90 euro for double.people were friendly.Night life was pretty good ,all the small pubs, trying to bring people in early in the night with free shots. As for food,,food in cafes and bars was not so nice,,pay a bit extra and eat down by the marina..stick to centre of town if you want to party.shopping was great,,from a female perspective it was shoe and bag paradise..very reasonably priced,,shopping centre is only 15 minute walk from beach.Taxi is about 15 euros to airport.because the place is so small you dont have to worry about getting lost and every thing is close to each other,,so it a no stress destination. Ps..im not a real beach hugger so thats why i gave it only 3 or 4 days to stay there..

alicante  by Philip    11th Apr 08
I've been to alicante twice and am going again in a few weeks... The place I stayed at was La Marina, nice place, nice people! I don;t remember the EXACT place we stayed at but I'd recommend going there!! There's the local town of Guardamar were there's lots of shops in, as you expect, I even followed my Dad into a tobacco shop!!!! There's plenty of Restaurants were you can easily find simple British food or of you really wanna make the most of your holiday try a Paellea!! If you go into the back end of the town you can even find a German restaurant!!! Everywhere was reasonably priced, Food, Clothes, drink, even the fuel for the car was cheap compared to Britain! If you wanna go somewhere for a Holiday...go to quiet Alicante....as long as you try to pick up a little Spanish to communicate with the locals- you'll get along just fine!
