Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is a fascinating mosaic of Asian, European and African traditions. These streams of history flow together in the city but, particularly because of the legacy of the apartheid system, visitors to Cape Town are often amazed by the dramatic contrasts that remain between different areas. Nature, too, creates very different sub-climates around the mountain so the vegetation varie ... more info

Tour around South Africa  by Didi    27th Sep 09
Wow everything they wrote and said about South Africa is absolutely true. Seriously breath taking views of the mountain, sea, animals (I put up some of these gorgeous pics in my album). I absolutely love being so up close to the animals in their 'natural' habitat. The food is absolutely delicious. Melting pot of different kinds of culinary tastes too.

A City in Nature  by Jacques    30th Sep 08
Cape Town is a beautiful city which, in my opinion, strikes a close to perfect balance between city life and nature. As a city it is a happening place filled with events and a great diversity of culture. The great thing about Cape Town is that it is not so big that you feel lost in it. The City is surrounded by great get away opportunities in any which direction you choose to go. I think the most spectacular thing about Cape Town is the fact that it actually also surrounds the Cape Peninsula Nature Reserve (World Herritage Site), Starting from Table Mountain, in the centre of it all, there are a mutitude of scenic routes, by car and by foot, which one can explore on one of those beautifull summer days as experienced only in the Mother City.

Evertsdal Guesthouse  by Shabana    13th Sep 08
Cape Town is a beautiful place with lots of things to do, if you know your way around. The drive from Everstdal to Kraaifontein will take you through some gorgeous landscapes, as well as a view of table mountain. It's a little chillier than I'm used to, being from warm Durban but it was manageable. The people are great and tend to switch from English to Afrikaans really quickly and I have to admit... I may have even started to think in Afrikaans for a few minutes...which was quite hilarious once i realised what i was doing...lol. I'm definitely looking forward to going back and seeing more.

cape town rocks  by Edeline    2nd Sep 08
Has some of the warmest people in the world and you'll never get lost in Cape Town. There is always a helping hand round each corner. of course we have our dingy places but it is the place to be especially in summer.
