It's a good place for a holiday - if you like skiing, hiking, cycling i any way or climbing. The mountains of Karkonosze are old and not very high, so you don't need to experienced (but common sense is always necessary!) or well-trained. All of these you can find in a region, and staying in Jelenia Gora, form where you can get to the mountains in up to some 45 minutes on a bus, will not drain your pocket, as will do staying in any of tourist resorts in the nearby. You will not get bored either, if you like to see something other than beautiful nature - like architecture, museum collections (the region is famous for production of glass - you gotta see Muzeum Karkonoskie - The Karkonosze Museum - with its beautiful collection of glass art and everyday products) or just old town with certain "mood".

If you like to see Polish Karkonosze, have a great fun in Wroclaw ( Breslau ) or Prague Jelenia Gora is great plac to stop for a break :)
