Boracay  by Marie Anthonette    28th Aug 08
Aside from a bevy of resorts, Boracay boasts of a diverse selection of restaurants, ranging from the native fast-food stalls to establishments that would satisfy even a gourmet. One can find bars, beer joints as well as discos with amazing light and sound equipments open until the late morning hours. The White Beach may be the main attraction of Boracay, but there's much more, including water sports, beach volleyball, diving, snorkeling, motorbiking, mountain biking, hiking, trekking, and even plain lazing around.

Boracay Island  by Mina    22nd Jul 08
Boracay is a tropical island located approximately 315km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. Years ago, Boracay Island was a well-guarded secret, almost possessively so that only a few knew of its existence. It was only in the 70's when, it is said, a foreign movie crew accidentally "discovered" this island paradise. Others maintain that it was the German traveler, Jens Peters' book, which included rave reviews of Boracay that changed the islands pace from that of being a quiet secret to eventually being voted as having the best beach in the world. It was around this time that Boracay Island slowly ceased to be a private travelers hangout and eventually became a favorite tourist destination in the Philippines.

nice hot their place  by Michael    20th May 08
There is nothing much to say with the history of the island besides being part of Aklan where it is connected. A couple of decades ago, Boracay were nothing more than a simple fishing village where a typical local house is composing of a bamboo and nipa hut. The beginning of tourism transformed Boracay completely. Because of its exceptional beauty, tourists began arriving and now it becomes one of the country's hottest attractions.
