I have been to Bacolod on November of 2004 for the celebration of NYD.
I traveled alone. It was my first time to be on an airplane.
Imagine how I looked like traveling alone, not even knowing who will be picking me up as I arrived in airport.
NYD was held in Panaad Stadium I have met a lot of people and gain new friends from all over the country.
I had a foster family in Bacolod for 4 days.
My foster parents & siblings were all nice to me. Even my foster uncle and aunt.
I enjoyed my stay in Bacolod. Though too bad I was not able to go around and see nice places.
But I've been to Panaad Stadium, La Consolacion School, De la salle (I think), Robinson's, and other places I cannot remember anymore. I was a bit surprised when my foster sister showed me the highest building there (10 floors) compared to bldgs in Makati it is short.
I hope to be back there soon. You see, my roots came from Bacolod.
Oh I forgot, Bacolod has best Piyaya in the Phils.

When one says Bacolod, my first thought is "home sweet home." It is a "home" because it is where family and friends are. One feels at home because of the friendliness and relaxed and peaceful way of life. It is also sweet, not only because of the sugar, but because of the sweet smiles the people are known for. Warm, pleasant and sweet - that's destination home, destination Bacolod.
