Barranco

The well-known district of Barranco is known for its leisurely strolls, bars and bohemia. LIMA IS MODERN AND ANCIENT  by Freddy    29th Sep 08
LIMA CITY IS REALLY WONDERFUL, MAYBE NOT PERFECT, BECAUSE THE NOISE, POLLUTION AND SOME KIND OF DISORDER IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. BUT IF YOU COME MAYBE THE BEST TIME FOR TO TAKE A TRIP IN LIMA DOWN TOWN IS ON SUNDAY OR SATURDAY AFTERNOON, WHAT OR WHERE TO GO THE REST OF THE WEEK? MAYBE YOU CAN TRAVEL AROUND THE CITY, VISITING A LOT OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL PLACES OR SOME PRETTY AND SMALL VILLAGES WHERE YOU CAN FIND NATURE AND PEACE, IF YOU RETURN ON FRIDAY NIGHT MAYBE YOU CAN GO TO A PUB, KARAOKE OR DISCO. BUT A COMBINATION OF THESE TWO WORLDS THE ANCIENT PERU: INCA - COLONIAL AND THE MODERN PERU: CAPITAL CITY AND ITS INTERESTING PLACES ARE MAYBE THE REASON OF YOUR TRIP ...WELCOME

LIma limea  by Qoqo    27th Sep 08
For those who like to eat good and do not like to spend a big amount of money, you will love this city. Lima is all about food, limos love to eat, so they have mixed their own flavours with all those of the immigrants that have visited this Capital city since it was discovered by the Spaniards. For night life, I would recommend the traditional district of Barranco, it has small open bars, discos and peas all around and very close to each other. Lima has at the same time the tradition and modern life of its present, it is kind of chaotic like all big cities, but it is also open to visitors from everywhere. I live in Lima and what I like the most is that being so crowded, you can still find personal places to relax, the weather is not so cold in winter and not so hot in summer and it almost never rains. You will love Lima, you just have to hold that spirit. Enjoy.

LIMA  by Jakie    25th Sep 08
I visited Lima more than 10 years ago, it was a very nice experience. I liked the low prices in almost everything. The Chinese food was very good and cheap, also the natural juices that are sold in the streets. The fruits were also cheap, and delicious. I recommend visit museums because they are very interesting. Have fun

Peruvian food & History  by Daniel    17th Sep 08
Lima is a great city, cosmopolitan, modern with a lot of history. i always first recommend visit down town history, colonial buildings, history museums and art galleries. Walk near by the sea to have a different experience. You can go to La Punta who is a old district so warm and nice. Callao is near La Punta and you can see the port of Lima. Later you can go outside of the city a few minutes by car..to Pachacamac..is a other part of the city you must see. Also something very important, is the food, you can eat delicious foods everywhere and not so expensive..but in the night i suggest go to a nice restaurant to eat and drink and have a Lima experience. For fun you have bars, clubs, casinos, theatres,etc..but i recommend private parties but you have to know the exact days in different restaurants in Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco. You can meet nice people. The warm people of Peru is waiting for you, to show you the incredible country we have.

Lima for everyone  by AnĂbal    10th Sep 08
Lima the city of the kings. Nice cosmopolitan city offering plenty of opportunities to the newcomer: History and culture by means of a number of museums of art, archaeology, natural history, etc. Contemporary art events at the local art centrers, expositions, events, concerts and public presentations. Fun at the bars, casinos, discos and night clubs. Accommodation in the wide range of hotels available. Delicious and varied food at the restaurants ranging from fast food up to exclusive fancy ones and special thematic cuisine. Relax at the beautiful parks and beaches. Lima is the departure port to everywhere else in the country also offering options for cycling and outdoors nearby. And the best of this city, the warm friendly people. Come stay and experience Lima.
