Include Don Quixote and Sancho Pa by

I went to Guanajuato for a weekend from La Piedad. It's beautiful, Guanajuato that is! Fantastic surroundings, beautiful buildings, the huge statue of Pipilo up 300 steps (he's the guy who tied a rock to his back and forced open the door to the fort way back when), the Mariachis on Saturday night, the haciendas at the outskirts of town (especially Barrera's ex-hacienda, its magic) and of course the churches. Don't forget the museum dedicated to Don Quixote and Sancho Panza, it's really worth a good look. See the museums on Sunday, when they're free... temples, theatres and haciendas have to be paid for all week.

This is a nice place located in the center of Mexico. This is a colonial city and when you walk on the streets you get so tired because there are highs and lows, but the environment is so rustic and the kind people make this place magic. I love to go to Guanajuato, not just for the Cervantino Festival, but every time of the year. The weather is so nice.
