mongolia  by Sumathy    3rd Aug 08
The Soviet-Mongolian army defeated Japanese forces that had invaded eastern Mongolia in the summer of 1939, and a truce was signed setting up a commission to define the Mongolian-Manchurian border in the autumn of that year. Mongolia became a member of the United Nations in 1961Life in sparsely populated Mongolia has recently become more urbanized. Nearly half of the people live in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and in other provincial centers. Semi-nomadic life still predominates in the countryside, but settled agricultural communities are becoming more common

Mongolia is best!!!  by Victoriya    29th Nov 08
Just about everyone knows about Genghis Khan and Mongolian barbecue, but only a traveler knows what the country actually offers. Hiking, fishing and kayaking are great adventure possibilities throughout the country, while the cities are an amazement - cars drive alongside camels, and the cold weather leads vendors to sell ice cream out of a paper box! I love and I like Mongolia and Mongolian people!:)
