Madagascar is a truly unique and beautiful country, full of the friendliest people I have had the pleasure of meeting and great hospitality....
Don't go to Madagascar and expect great things because there is nothing really great about the country, there is extreme poverty, the infrastructure is near to non-existing and what ever you do don't me in a rush.
If you are looking for a place where you can see the most unique and amazing wild life in any of the many national parks, spend your time on sun drenched beaches or learn how little you really need to survive and still be happy then give Madagascar a go. I doubt that you will be disappointed

I was in the country for 10 days. It's such a beautiful place and the people were very friendly as well. I stayed in one of the President's Hotel's for a launching of a bible in the Malagasy language, visited several churches, walked around a lemur park, went to an outdoor marketplace, was there for the country's Independence Day, and traveled to the countryside.

Antalaha --- This city is considered as the world's capital of the vanilla, one of Madagascar's numerous products that has made the fame of the country.
All I have to say is that it may be one of the last paradise places left in the world, a hidden place where mass tourism and overcrowded resorts haven't yet set their footprint.. for now!
A highly recommended place if you seek for relief and reconciliation with mother nature, all this going along with a very comfortable and though simple accommodation: a bungalow on the seafront!
