We had been Laos -Thai border gate which the way in East west corridor . Suanakat is very calm city . It seems to be not much materialization but there is so much natural things owned by Laos . I love that kind of calm and tranquil city which is close to very natural .

Laos..  by Atitaya    12th Aug 08
Luang Prabang was great. Thanks a lot to the one who took me to Laos. I crossed Thai-Laos border in the Northeast of Thailand and was first in Vientiane and back into Thailand by crossing Chiang Khong border in the North of Thailand after visiting Luang Prabang.

An experience!  by Noy    24th Apr 08
Being only 17 then it was an experience since I grew up in Honollu, Hawaii everything is different I really enjoyed the scenery it was really beautiful especially the Temples. When I was there it was the new years Bun Tat Luang, Oh my god it was like a carnival without the rides with live comedy/opera lao style. I visited Don Hen, Sawan, the places where there weren't any electricity, toilets and water in faucets the people had to fetch it from a well. as you can see it was interesting in Vientiane it was fun and in country scenery is nice but don't want to go there until there's toilets, electricity and water and also vehicle because transportation only go so far. It's always best to learn the culture first before you go. One day I'll go there again.

Vientiane & Vang Vieng  by Cory    9th Apr 08
Been working in Laos almost 3 months now. The people here are amongst the friendliest I've come across in my limited travels . Food here is pretty spicy, but cheap and generally good. Alcohol is also cheap and I recommend trying the local brew Beer Lao. In Vientiane its well worth hiring a guide , or waving down a TukTuk and seeing a few of the local temples and monuments- That Luang, Patouxay and Vat Sisaket all spring to mind and the morning market is a must see.For a place to stay try either the Lao Orchid or Intercity hotels, both are reasonably priced ( about $40 US/night). the Bor peng young beside the intercity hotel is a top spot for a beer as you can get a great view of the Meekong River from there and have a couple of games of pool. The best place to go for a pizza in town is the Swiss Bakehouse. Vang Vieng is the tourist hotspot here- Kayaking, tubing and caving are all readily available and the scenery is simply awsome!.
