Jeju offers the city-weary traveler a respite with its scenic sights and rustic charm. I enjoyed the majestic Dragon's head rock (with its attendant legends), the trek up Sunrise peak (with beautiful wild flowers and Luwei grass along the way) and experiencing "anti-gravity" at Magic Road. On Magic Road, you can turn off the car engine and watch incredulously as the vehicle moved slowly upslope. Another way to experience this is to run up and down the street. You will find that running "upslope" is easier than "downslope". According to the tour guide, the "anti-gravity effect" is actually due to an optical illusion which made the road gradient appear uphill when the slope is actually downhill. All is revealed when a little water is poured on the road, and it flows in the actual downhill direction.
