this is the capital city of ehime prefecture. a 2-hour bus travel from niihama city (where i stayed for almost 5 months). the place is a fusion of both traditional and modern japan. matsuyama castle, one of the most visited castled in japan, is best viewed during the "sakura" or cherry blossoms season. the oldest hot spring in japan is also in this city -- the dogo onsen is a must-see tourist destination. you'll get to experience the traditional japanese spa. not to forget, especiallly to those who loved shopping (like me! ehehe..), okaido shopping center as well as takashimaya should never be missed.
