As the ancient and spiritual capital of Japan, Kyoto affords visitors a microcosmic view of the country as a whole. Like hustling, bustling Tokyo, there are parts of the city that resemble any other Japanese metropolis, especially the downtown area. You will find a throng of huge department stores in the vicinity of Shijo, a congregation of fine hotels< ... more info

Visiting Kyoto  by Wendy    1st Sep 08
Kyoto is one of my all time favorite places to visit. I have been there many times during my life time and each time I discover something new. There are still many places within the city that I have yet to explore....and food from Kyoto...Kyoto style cooking/preparing is skillful, artful and delicious.....I love kaiseki ryori.... I love Kyoto tsukemono...and I love wagashi from Kyoto!!!! It is a must visit (and eat) place when in Japan!

Ic-Q-san town  by Chanachai    13th May 08
This is my second time that I visited Kyoto . Ic-Q-San is a famous Japanese cartoon in Thailand, so, I very happy that I visited the place that Ic-Q-San lived in the past times. Kinkakuji is one that he lived, and the other one is Ic-Q-tera. so,I buy Ic-Q-San charm in that place too.

Kyoto  by Candice    26th Jan 08
I visited Kyoto for 4 days over Christmas 2007. It's an amazing city and there's so much to see!! I visited many temples including Kinkaku-ji, Kiyomizu-dera, and Ryoan-ji!! I also visited a couple of shrines, the famous Gion district and saw some authentic young geisha. It was sometimes a challenge getting around with so many bus, train, and subway lines available, but it was much easier with a map. I enjoyed the trip a lot and there's still so much that I would like to see. I'm already planning a trip to go back in the spring!!
