Leeside lullaby  by Eamonn    9th Sep 08
Cork nestles contentedly on islands between splits in the river Lee. Its a compact city where one can walk anywhere in 20 minutes which makes hooking up with friends so easy and daily life very convenient. Its busy by day especially around the commercial hub of Patrick's st and the streets can often seem rainy and windswept. For a more relaxing stroll stick to semi pedestrian Oliver Plunkett st or Paul st where you'll find a large selection of terraced cafes, restaurants and bars. The nightlife can be lively with a decent live music scene mostly in some select bars but the nightclubs usually follow the old "Pack 'em in, liquor them up and throw them out" mantra...expect to find yourself on the way home by 2am.

what i think about Cork  by Hollmarks    9th Jul 08
I have been living in Ireland for nearly a two years. I enjoyed this time a lot. Good place to go out, many nice people, good work opportunities and lots of fun like Saint Patricks day of madness in local pubs. nice girls and funny version of english. Whats the crack. There is not such a place in the world which i visited like a Cork. Many good restaurants, clubs, and great opera house offering well being to everyone. Drum and bass parties, house parties, lots of house parties. Guiness jazz festival with cork movie festival is one of my favourite events which i trying to visit every year, well if is possible. I have been living and travelng in Spain for 3 months and i never made such a good spanish mates like here. Great friends for life. Its true this small city or town how you like can be a litlle be clastrophobic after while but its worthed. Not suprised its called the cultural city and city of students. Well i could talk and talk but better keep it for myself.

a corkin' good time  by Kelleen    9th May 08
What a grand little city! So many fun spots--so much great scenery--such fun and laid back people! LOVE IT! I would totally move there. Not only is cork city itself wonderful the surrounding area offers something for everyone. There is much in the way of outdoor pursuit as well as sightseeing. Walk down the streets of cork and all you hear is buzz, music, chatter, and laughter--try finding anything but a ned starting a fight on a Glasgow street at night! :)
