Castlebar is the county town of mayo. there is a population of about 15,000 (including rural area)..
castlebar's most famous resident is johnny brinklow. he was founder of the l.c.c.(lakeside culture club), which came in existence in november 1987. the club is still going strong to this day after nearly 20 years since its creation.
