While there is nothing interesting about the general architecture of the city (with a couple of exceptions), it is an interesting city to visit. The geography is quite dramatic - with the city spread around a bay and rising up quite sharply from it. There were a couple of good seafood restaurants including one "floating" restaurant on the shoreline. Traffic is pretty good. The drive from the airport is a bit of a hike, so make sure you are picked up. The people are friendly and there are some interesting Papua cultural/handicraft shops near the markets.
