Excellent hub into Kalimantan by

While the city has only about 500,000 people it is very well developed and has lots of great amenities. This is because it is an oil/gas/coal/timber town! The hotels are excellent for such a sized city. The roads are great. The location is by the beach and an interesting Buginese fishing village just off the center of town provides a way to look at wider ranges of lifestyles. The city is just a brief drive from the forested areas. You can still find some interesting Dayak cultural experiences. One of my favorite cities in Indonesia.
