HISTORICAL PLACE  by Sumeet    16th Jul 08
Aurangabad is the one of the most liked historical place. Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb use to rule on Aurangabad so named as Aurangabad. The famous places to visit in and around Aurangabd are Biwi-ka Maqbara, Ellora, Ajanta Paithan, and many more. The entrance of Aurangabd starts with the fort of Aurangzeb called as Daultabad fort.

An Educational Tour  by Emma    30th May 08
Aurangabad is an industrial city with some industrial estates, two of which we were able to visit. NGOs are active in this place. One of the special places we visited was the water impounding project they have in the nearby community, where a denuded mountain was restored and vegetation started to develop, water level was improved and wells became more productive. Cattle became a thriving rural industry and milk is flowing. One of the best silk is from Maharashtra and we were able to visit a silk production center where they make beautiful silk saris which is of course expensive. We were treated to a visit in the Angora Caves. Amazing are the Buddhist temple carved from the rocks of the mountain, and the monks quarters carved inside the mountain. The ceilings and walls are intricately painted with natural dyes and survived the tests of the elements over hundreds of years.
