Paris, France
Once just a village that settled on the "Ile de la Cité" (City Island) on the confluence of the Seine's two branches, Paris has vastly expanded over the centuries, taking the surrounding villages under its wing and making them its own. Nowadays the City of Light—a name Paris earned during the age of the Enlightenment—is made up of several arrondissements or districts, numbered fro ... more info

My Number One City  by Gaby    24th Jun 09
I love Paris so much that I have visited 5 times, I enjoy walking the city, you can run into so many small churches, small galleries, shops, museums and parks throughout the city that I have disregarded the tourist brochures, sitting in cafe and just watch people go by is one of my favourite things to do, the metro is so practical if you know where you want to go just hop in and you'll be there in a flash!

Romantic city  by Gogula    15th Apr 09
The city was beautiful, full of historical buildings. As for me the best to the explore the city is by cycling or hop in a sightseeing bus. I love Paris. I would like to go again and explore more on the city. I was having problem on the tourist information as most of the information are French language. Anyway the art and the sculpture are fantastic.

Epitome of Romance  by Vilma    19th Mar 09
The most romantic city in the world with it's cobbled stone alleys lined with beautiful bistros offering fine French cuisine. Even the simplest of food like the Monsieur or Madame Croquet is exquisite. Bursting with history, every street corner has something historic to show-off. Takes one down through the many memory lanes of stories set in French settings, read since childhood. Can never tire of it!

Best Pastry  by Mari    18th Mar 09
Just around the Place de la Madeleine, you can find La Duree', Fauchon and He'diard..... Worth the calories...yes expensive but one must visit Paris and all it has to offer..... The cuisine is supreme. The architecture eclectic and amazing even the Madeleine metro station is a sight to behold

J'aime Paris  by Sarah    28th Feb 09
But I do think it's too expensive. I spent most of my time walking around the city, but not paying to get into any of the places. For an American, the food and drinks are incredibly expensive, but the food is so delicious, it's worth it! The food is definitely my favorite part about France in general, but Paris is also a vibrant city with an active nightlife. I especially like that you can easily rent a bicycle to get around the city and drop it off in another bike rack when you're finished with it. It would be better if it didn't require a European credit card though.
