My hometown  by Zein    17th Jan 08
Although I was born in Cairo, my parents came from Aswan, the warm, quiet, and peaceful town in the southern Egypt. I have a passion for this town and its sweet people. I went to my first school in a village 150 km to the south from Aswan. Stayed there two years in my childhood. Now those nubian villages are drawned after the construction of the high dam in Aswan. I have only this town to clich to as my native place, and very proud of it.

Aswan  by Maartje    25th Sep 08
Made my way to Aswan on a cruise from Luxor. Such an amazing experience and viewed so many interesting places with ancient Egyptian ruins. Tip: visit Abu Simbel when you're close to Aswan... it is a bit of a drive and you should visit it as early in the morning as you can to avoid the heat... but the trip is definitely worth it!
