The pearl of the Pacific  by Carlita    7th Jan 09
This is the local name we have for Guayaquil and u can not really know what are we talking about, till u get to know the city.... a walk on the MAlecon till Las Peas will be the beginning, then take a boat to La Isla Santay a Natural reserve with really nice friendly people, which by the way, you will found inur whole trip through Guayaquil and for sure u can not miss The nightlife here, u should go to the Zona Rosa (7streets full of bars and nightclubs) a very nice place to party just like MInc in the Malecon2000 and Bao Bar In Urdesa, Try it, u wont regret!!

Interesting City  by Marie    17th Sep 09
Guayaquil is a city of contrasts. Of rich and poor. Of beauty and the not so beautiful. I actually went to do some voluntary work so I got to see the different facades. The main areas for the tourist to visit are the Malecon, Las Penas and the Parque Historico. If you visit the city make sure you also visit the Artesanal if you want to buy some of the local crafts for souvenirs. The people I met were really friendly. A word of advice though, make sure you speak some Spanish or have someone in the group who does. You will be lucky if you find anyone who speaks English.
