Very pretty area, renown for it's scenery (limestone karsts, which were most definitely observable by air). Expect a long and 'rough' ride from Guilin airport to Guilin city, and for locals in Guilin city to be not too friendly (my experience with them was that they were either not terribly fluent in English, or they pestered you into going on a tour - neither of which I found terribly helpful)

This is one of my favourite places in China, I love everything there, mountains and river,people there are wonderful....
