The old town is full of historical churches and buildings. It is a pretty place and well worth visiting. Get there early while it is quiet to sample it at its best or go out of season. It started to get crowded about 11am. You can walk round the old part easily in a couple of hours and then take the chance to relax and have a drink in a cafe. There are plenty of cafes to choose from. From the old town you can walk over the causeway to the new part of the town. This is a complete contrast in architecture.

Historical town on the Bulgarian by
Lora 19th Jul 08
Every foreigner who's coming for first time to Bulgaria and have heard from friends about this town wants to come and visit it. Is really beautiful and nice but my husband and I didn't really "feel" it....so we has been only coming for walks and coffee here and never for staying longer time. The old part of the town is amazing - old Bulgarian houses with great view of the Black sea...Nessebar is above Bourgas and under Sunny beach so you can combine the 1-2 days trip with seeing also other places;)In general is not a cheap place because of the tourists so watch out when you're buying something - you might find it cheaper in Bourgas!
