The town is located in the North part of Bulgaria and the road from Sofia to Pleven is not that bad! The city itself has couple of interesting spots as Pleven panorama, the local gardens outside the city-center...Good for visit in the spring. Avoid a stay in hotel Balkan - extremely poor and expensive for the bad quality inside! Better stay in hotel Rostoff 9I think that was the name) which is located on the main pedestrian street.
