February is a winter month in Bulgaria and is good to go to the mountain and enjoy the snow. My husband and I went to Smolyan because we knew is a good place for relax and enjoy the winter landscapes...We stayed at hotel Cristal which is located on a lake - frozen during the winter...you can feel like in a magic story...we didn't see much of the town but we went there because of the snow and the mountain itself...the road from Plovdiv to Smolyan is a dangerous one during the winter so better use a local driver if you decide to go to Smolyan.
