Shumen is a small town located in the North-East part of the country. Is famous with its beer which is called Shumensko. My Danish husband loves this beer - he believes is the best Bulgarian beer (words of person whose country is the best producer of beer!). There is also the biggest mosque in Bulgaria. We stayed at Solo hotel - next to the main pedestrian street. The local are nice (some of them) and there is a lot to be seen in and outside the city. If you go there don't miss to visit Madara rider - the future symbol of the Bulgarian EURO.
