Never actually stepped ashore. Was sailing with husband and the ship was at anchorage in the river. Spent about three weeks there. watched the people of Dhaka go by in flimsy little boats. tradesmen would come aboard. Bought a beautiful carpet made of coir, really cheap. had a bar-b-que on board to take away from the boredom. oh, and watched myriads of river dolphins gamboling in the waters. Passing the Sunderbans was interesting and i kept waiting for one of the famous tigers to come to the banks for a sip of water! Hard luck, not a one was seen!!

Surprisingly when u shop in Dhaka, it is just like u shop in chow kit. They speak Malay. In fact 200,000 Bangladeshi have been to Malaysia. The traffic is bad, the hotel is average but the curry is good. I love being the market and buy fruits, nice, sweet and cheap.

This place is ok for nice atractions, has many interesting things to do and so much to see. I liked this town it had beautiful scenes with my experience. I would like to go again and I recommed others to see what I am talking about and I think you wil enjoy it there!
