I just got back from Minsk earlier this week. Didn't know what to expect, but found it a great place to visit. More modern than expecting, wide streets, clean, very safe no matter the time, and great people. Even had prefect strangers shouting me vodka's in a small karoke bar near Minsk Hotel. There way to keep me there singing. Lucky they didn't know how bad I sing as the level on English among older people is quite low. It can take some time to get through immigration when arriving as they seem to look at your passport for a long time and the computers broke down when departing, but apart from the airport, I would suggest visiting Minsk. Just ensure you get a visa.

Minsk is not just beautifull place it is a wonderfull place.I lived 5 years in Minsk.Sublime.

Its the capital of Belarus. The people here call themselves white russians. Yes indeed very beautifull women in this country. The streets are wide in the capital. Safety is still a concern in this country.

very nice place, I have visited there a lot of time. Minsk is spl.very clean and beautiful with wide roads and very beautiful Railway station.people are also very nice and friendly. But you have to follow rules strictly,as for every time you do any mistake,police will put a stamp on your passport....and 3 stamps... you are deported. International Airport is about 40 Km. from city.very difficult to reach there.........so if planing to fly then plan well in advance.

Based on newspapers etc. Belarus is not a country to visit, but they are wrong !! It's an amazing country and Minsk is just great. It's a wonderful night-life with a lot og nice people. Cultural events are great if you love ballet, opera, circus etc..... Just be aware that it takes some time to pass the border etc. and visa is required..
