Loved it so much that I moved the  by Rosie    24th Dec 08
I first visited in 1998. I was here for three short weeks and loved it so much that when I returned back to Queensland, I packed up my whole house and moved here. The lakes and the sunsets blew my mind, and the heat had no humidity. There is always something to do, whether you want to see the tourist sights of the AWM and museums or just get back to nature by watching the sunsets over the lakes. I have lived here for over 10 years now and have never regretted the move. I recommend Canberra as a place to stay for very affordable accommodation also.

Judge it on its own terms  by Kevin    19th Jul 08
You want to visit a city with no pollution, no traffic jams, is fully functional, heaps of green spaces, great and varied eating, some lovely scenery and a few interesting architectural icons - get yourself to Canberra. Yes the former sheep paddock of 100 years ago is now Australia's national capital. The word Canberra means "meeting place" in the local Aboriginal language. I guess what better name for a capital city! There are lots of interesting buildings. he one along Lake Burlkey Griffin, near the old Parliament House, which looks like a Nuclear Power Plant, is a great little hands on science museum, courtesy of the good people of Japan to celebrate 200 years of European settlement in Australia.

Very impressive  by Colleen    25th Apr 08
Have been there three times already - first time in 1980, again in '85 and the third time in '86. The city has a lot going for it - Art galleries, museums, the Parliament house,The High Court you name it.

CANBERRA TRIP  by Ellen    2nd Apr 08
The best time of year to be in Canberra - Autumn. Its a display this year of yellows, ambers, greens and gold. The air is nice and crisp it has a good feeling about it. As far as the driving is concerned, its a breeze once you know where your going!
