I spent a month in Gunnedah when our Kombi broke down on route to Byron. Very interesting, although somewhat regressive place. Seriously, it's like a throw back to the redneck 50's where they call indigenous Australians 'black fella's' and there's still a lot of fear between koori's and whites. It was an experience, but I wouldn't bother going again.
