OEF Kandahar & Farah provinces  by Pablo    30th Nov 08
Afghanistan is very diverse. I experienced extreme heat, template temperatures, and cold. My Afghan friends told me that the major cities are relatively safe (at least to their standards). The southern regions are still very dangerous because of the Taliban. My Marines eliminated some of that threat recently but there's still plenty of bad guys around there. The food is tasty! If you're travelling along dirt roads watch out for bombs!

afghan  by Asad    16th Sep 08
Afghanistan is a culturally mixed nation, a crossroads between the East and the West, and has been an ancient focal point of trade and migration. It has an important geo-strategical location, connecting South, Central and South west Asia.

Afghanistan  by Leo    7th Aug 08
Very hot place to visit...It was mix nation country so called as crossroad between East & west...The worse part is Afghanistan has suffered continuous and brutal civil war, which included foreign interventions in the form of the 1979 Soviet invasion and the recent 2001 US-led invasion that toppled the Taliban government.

This was my first Deployment. It was both fun yet nerve wracking. I made a lot of friends in Afghanistan.
