Be careful with the police, they stopped me and my girlfriend for jaywalking and insisted on ID....because my girlfriend did not have any on her they took her to the police station, I had to go back to the hotel and get her passport and bring it to the station before they would release her....disgraceful conduct by them....when we were stopped we were beside our hotel and they would allow me just to get it and bring it to them...Panama is great but I would not go back for this reason...

It is still very cheap, here in Panamá. Restaurants out side the hotels are very good. The Canal Locks is worth while visiting, THe highways to the inteior of the country are quite ok

Someone asked me to write a tip ... I already did, scroll down. I talked about hiking, beaches, safety ... one last thing ... NEVER talk back to police like you would here ...

Panama Canal is interesting, lots of restaurants, good sea food. Be careful driving because the police will stop anyone for the most minor offense. Be very careful in downtown Panama City, especially at night.
