You cant visit La Venta museum, where there are the most complete collection of Olmeca culture --mother of precolombine cultures in Mesoamerica--, the regional museum Carlos Pellicer, poet of América; new atractions like the Musevi, around the great Illusion's lagoon and drink horchatas --beverage of milk, rice or coconut-- in front of the cathedral of Tabasc, where Juan Pablo II was in 1991, or eat tamales of chipilin or pejalargarto in most of restaurants in Villahermosa. Tamales are a mixing of corn with chicken, fish like the pejelagarto, or leaves like the chipilín, dressed in banana leaves. Enjoy your stay!

I stayed in Villahermosa & Tuxtle Gutierrez the later was the best but both places were enjoyable, if you go the lakes around Villahermoa beware of the mosquitoes, just do not show you have lots of money, dress down. but you will enjoy the place
