Always travel with your own medication in your personal effects. Never put it in your luggage in case a long delay.

When Middlesbrough were drawn against Ostrava in the UEFA Cup I decided it was the perfect opportunity to explore a new destination. We arrived and managed to find a hotel for an overnight stay not far from the stadium.

The city seemed vibrant (though it was a lot busier than it would normally be due to the number of visiting supporters) and prices were relatively cheap. There were plenty of bars and restaurants for refreshments. The food was good and hearty and went down extremely well with a pint of the local brew.

The football stadium was a bit of a surprise compared to those we English are used to. No roof and it rained for some of the time.
